POSITION: HEAD/INVESTIGATIONS & SECURITY

REPORTING TO: COMPANY SOLICITOR (COSOL)

ROLE OVERVIEW: 

To ensure that all cases of theft, fraud and other malpractices are properly

investigated and dealt with as well as safeguarding the security and safety of the company’s properties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, organize and ensure the provision of a 24 hour security coverage for the company’s properties, installations and personnel. 
  • Ensure that crimes reported to the unit are promptly investigated.
  • Ensure that statements are taken from suspects. 
  • Ensure that officers in the unit regularly submit reports.
  • Ensure that regular visits are made to the mail offices to conduct surprise checks on sorters and counters clerks.
  • Ensure that the accounts and records of postmasters are regularly checked.
  • Cause surveillance to be kept on the movement of mails.
  • Ensure that necessary security measures are provided to prevent loss of properties of the company and its customers.
  • Responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing correspondence of the department.
  • Ensure that investigators both at the Head Office and in the Regions are assigned the appropriate duties.
  • Write recommendations on reports submitted by immediate schedule officers to management.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual operational reports of the unit to management.
  • Ensure the regular organization of conferences, seminars and courses for immediate subordinates and other security personnel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

  • 1st degree in any relevant field of study or security related field with 5 years working experience in the same or similar role.
  • A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Security and intelligence procedures is a MUST have.
  • Good writing and reporting skills 
  • Knowledge in Microsoft suits
